Uncut Gems directors Josh and Benny Safdie and their Elara Pictures production company have signed a two-year first look deal with HBO deal.
Under the newly inked deal, A24 will be on board as executive producers, according to Variety. So far, though, no new Safdie projects have been announced. But whatever the film entities end up putting together will mark not only the first collaboration between all three, but also the Safdies' small screen debut.
Previously, A24 produced 2019's Uncut Gems and 2017's Good Time with the Safdies, as well as Euphoria with HBO. The Safdies also once appeared on HBO's Togetherness series back in 2016.
Recently, Showtime set the prolific directors up with Nathan Fielder and green-lit the pilot for a new comedy series titled The Curse. That project, starring Fielder and Benny Safdie, is still forthcoming.
