After a hugely popular first season, Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians adaptation series has been renewed for a second run on Disney+.
The author announced the news with a post on the series's Instagram page today, which also confirmed that the second season would be based on the second book in his series.
"I can't wait to bring the next season of Percy Jackson to Disney+," he wrote. "Raise anchors. Hoist the mainsail. All hands on deck, demigods. We're heading for the Sea of Monsters!"
The film adaptation starring Logan Lerman and Alexandra Daddario also got a sequel based on The Sea of Monsters back in 2013, but the movie diverted heavily from the book material and ultimately marked the end of the series.
Although there's no word on when the second season will arrive as of yet, fans of Disney's Percy Jackson series can expect leads Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri to be back.
