Yes, you read that headline correctly — there's a new Cloverfield movie coming out tonight (February 4) on Netflix. Titled The Cloverfield Paradox, it's being released this evening after the Super Bowl, and the trailer is out now.
This movie originally went by the title God Particle. As previously reported, it is directed by Julius Onah with a screenplay from Oren Uziel. The cast includes David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel Brühl and Chris O'Dowd. It's set in space, and J.J. Abrams serves as a producer.
The original Cloverfield movie came out back in 2008. In 2016, the loosely connected sequel 10 Cloverfield Lane followed. Netflix's very brief, typo-filled synopsis for The Cloverfield Paradox is as follows: "Ten years ago, some thing arrived. Today, we know know why."
