Amid newly implemented return-to-work protocols in Hollywood, Netflix has announced a mandatory COVID vaccine policy for workers on its U.S. productions.
The policy will require areas of sets with unmasked actors — or "Zone A" — to have cast and crew members fully vaccinated to protect against the Delta variant that is leading a surge of new coronavirus cases in the States.
The streamer's new policy comes as major studios and unions agreed upon allowing producers to implement stricter COVID regulations, including vaccine requirements for cast and crew.
As per Deadline, the company will limit exceptions to the new rule, though some workers will be exempt based on medical, religious or age reasons. The vaccine requirement is among the highest enforceable measures the company could take to protect its workers.
