After last year's news of unproblematic fave Paul Rudd joining the Only Murders in the Building cast for its third season, another slightly well-known name has been revealed as an addition to the ensemble. No, you're not dreaming — the show helmed by murder-mystery podcasting trio Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez has added none other than the absolutely goated Meryl Streep for Season 3.
Gomez made the big reveal on Instagram yesterday (January 17), posting a video of her hanging out with her castmates. "Hey guys, we're on set! What are we shooting? Season 3! The gang is back!" the actor/singer said, then panning the camera to reveal Martin and Short. "Yay! Could this honestly get any better?"
She added, "Oh wait!" revealing Rudd, who will continue his portrayal of Ben Glenroy, a character introduced in the finale of Season 2. Rudd teased, "Well, I do think it could get a little bit better."
Then — hark! A wild Streep appears over Gomez's shoulder.
"Steve, do you want a pillow?" Streep asks Martin. "Marty, anything you need?" And although she may not have brought Short the tea he asked for half an hour ago, the living legend is certainly a sweet addition to this wholesome crew.
There's no word yet on the character Streep will be portraying in OMITB, or when Hulu will bring Season 3 into the world. But in the meantime, you can get caught up and start weaving your theories by watching Season 1 and Season 2 on Disney+ in Canada.
