It's a question as old as time itself — how does one cram sex jokes into a parody of a movie that's already just one big, unintentional sex joke? We'll find out soon enough, as modern goofball auteur Marlon Wayans has announced plans to spoof Fifty Shades of Grey.
The actor will follow up his recent Haunted House movies to create a new spoof of the sexed-up S&M blockbuster. His version is called, obviously, Fifty Shades of Black.
The film will be financed by IM Global, with Wayans serving as the film's star and producer. He'll co-write the script with Rick Alvarez, and it'll be directed by Haunted House helmer Mark Tiddes (how often do you think they make jokes about this guy's last name — like 24/7 right?).
In a press release, Wayans channeled the spirit of thirsty marketers everywhere when he called their new film a "comedic remix" of Fifty Shades of Grey.
"Sex and comedy go hand-in-hand and I'm looking forward to having fun with this project," Wayans said. "It's amazing when a film of this caliber comes along begging to be made fun of. I'm really happy to be doing what I love with people I love to do it with. That double entendre was intentional."
Most hilarious of all, IM Global will pitch Fifty Shades of Black to distributors at Cannes next week.
