​London's Forest City Film Festival Reveals 2019 Lineup

London, ON's Forest City Film Festival runs from October 23 to 27, and the list of films that will be screened have now been announced.
 
The event will open with a screening of the documentary Prey, which is described as "a riveting and unflinching account of a survivor of clergy sexual abuse and his lawyer as they take on the Catholic Church."
 
The feature films in competition are Open for Submissions, Boys Vs. Girls, La Mentirita Blanca, Goliath and When the Storm Fades.
 
The feature documentaries in competition are Forest City: A Documentary, Illusions of Control, Weekender and Where in the Hell is the Lavender House?: The Longmont Potion Castle Story, as well as Prey.
 
The short documentaries competing, meanwhile, are Emptying the Tank, For the Girls, Girl of My Dreams, Gravity, Great Lakes Surfers, Icons of Soul, Jason RIP: A Tombstone Epitaph, Masutake Hunters, One of 100, Providence, Rediscovered and Shared, Stealing the Soul, Take Me to Prom and The Day Don Died.
 
Short films in competition the include Andy Asperger, The Candlelight Witch, Christmas Green, Contrary, Everything You Want to Say, Gone, Guts and Limbs.
 
Finally, the films competing in animation are Cyberspace Pirates, Iskwē – Little Star, Winter Mirage, What I See in You, Home and Kelpie.
 
There are also additional films screening in the aforementioned categories that aren't competing, as well as French films, international screenings and a "Madness" screening — for a total of 68 films.

Notably, all films appearing at the festival have some sort of tie to Southwestern Ontario (whether featuring actors or crew members born there, stories based on the area or movies that were filmed on location there).
