Sorry to Bother You/Get Out actor LaKeith Stanfield has come under fire today after posting what appears to be anti-vax rhetoric on his Instagram profile.

One of only six posts on his profile is now dedicated to a block of text that reads, "No one should be forcing anyone to put anything in their body," alongside the following caption: "There are always other ways to be safe."

UPDATE (08/11, 2:52 p.m. ET): Stanfield has deleted the post from his profile. You can find a screenshot of the post below.

The actor's comment section is a mix of support and disappointment, with one commenter writing, "I keep seeing this statement, but I don't see people being forced to do it?"

Stanfield responded: "I haven't seen anyone being forced. I'm just stating the obvious I guess."

While other safety measures like mask-wearing and social distancing are helpful in limiting the spread of COVID-19, vaccines have proven to be the most effective tool in containing the virus.

As far as vaccine safety is concerned, here's what Canadian experts have to say [via canada.ca]:

"Only vaccines that are proven to be safe, effective and of high quality are authorized for use in Canada. The COVID-19 vaccines have been rigorously tested during their development and then carefully reviewed by Health Canada. The vaccines can't give you COVID-19 because they don't contain the virus that causes it. The vaccines also can't change your DNA."
