Filmmaker Jonathan Glazer is finally working on his follow-up to 2013's Under the Skin (a film that we somehow reviewed three times). While he picks away at the new project, however, it looks like the shape-shifting black monsters that once haunted Scotland might return.
According to Deadline, a bidding war is heating up on the property. Silver Reel, the company that handled the original film, was close to solidifying the rights for the television adaptation of the project, but A24 also wants in on the action.
It's unclear exactly how the show will work with the film — whether it will retell the story or simply explore other characters in the same world. The original film was developed by Glazer from a sci-fi novel by Michel Faber.
A decision on who gets to produce the Under the Skin show should be finalized soon. As for how much Glazer will involved, that's yet to be seen but he has been working on his Holocaust film for quite some time and may be tied up with that.
