James Franco Says 'Freaks and Geeks' Revival Is a "Possibility"

We're living in an age where every damn thing comes back in one form or another, so why not Freaks and Geeks? After all, the Judd Apatow-produced teen drama has practically defined mainstream comedy ever since it was yanked from the air in 2000. Now, it looks like at least James Franco is open to the idea of a comeback.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, the actor, producer, writer, director and Instagram pick-up artist said that he certainly wouldn't turn down the opportunity to work with his follow freaks again. (Then again, does James Franco turn anything down?)

"I mean, I don't know what that would look like," he told the magazine. "Everybody's kind of old. I think for the most part we've had these little reunions just for photo shoots over the years, and everybody seems to still really like each other and still have a great love for what we did on that show. And obviously I still work very closely with Seth [Rogen] all the time. So, if somebody came up with an idea that didn't totally suck, I'm sure it's a possibility."

There you have it — all it'll take is an idea that doesn't totally suck. How about the characters from Freaks and Geeks are now employees of the high school? Or what if they go to space together? Wait, how about they recast all of the characters and do a Muppet Babies-style prequel show?

James Franco, get in touch.
