Try as he might, self-serious art-world James Franco will never quite be as great as broad comedy James Franco. Fortunately, the latter is back in the brand new trailer for Why Him?
The film, which was directed and written by I Love You, Man's John Hamburg based on a story idea from Jonah Hill, stars Franco as Laird — a ridiculous tech billionaire with a foul mouth and a love of sexual experimentation.
Laird falls for a young woman (Everybody Wants Some!! star Zoey Deutch), but first must win over Ned, her straightlaced nerd of a dad (Bryan Cranston).
Based on this red band trailer, it looks like Why Him? is going to be a wonderfully stupid, unpretentious comedy. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until December 25 for its release.
