Why do we subscribe to Netflix again? Between the "Untold" story of Jake Paul and a new documentary about the Johnny Depp–Amber Heard trial, I'm starting to wonder if the execs over at the big streaming corp are yanking our chain. Those two, plus a bunch of other wild shit, are coming to Netflix Canada in August.
Along with Paul's Problem Child story on August 1, we're also getting Not Another Teen Movie, The Angry Birds Movie, The Smurfs 1 and 2, Talladega Nights and a few other cinematic masterpieces. Things do take a slightly more wholesome turn on August 3, which is when we get the highly anticipated second season of Heartstopper. Thanks, Sarandos, I guess. The wholesomeness doesn't last long, though: we're getting Season 2 of The Ultimatum (not even the queer cast) on August 23.
Elsewhere in the month, we're getting The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Part 2, the Sandman-featuring You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, The Upshaws Part 4, Ladies First: A Story of Women in Hip-Hop, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and a Nailed It baking challenge.
We're forgetting Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Love Actually and She's the Man, among other selections leaving Netflix this month, but don't worry, there's plenty more to choose from over at Prime Video, CBC Gem, Paramount+ and Disney+.
