Stephen King's The Dark Tower series has been turned into a blockbuster film, and the first look at the upcoming movie has arrived today (May 3) with an official trailer.
The film is helmed by A Royal Affair director Nikolaj Arcel, and it stars major Hollywood players Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. We meet them in the dreams of Jake Chambers (played by Tom Taylor), who explains his visions of the Gunslinger (Elba) and the Man in Black (McConaughey) to a child psychologist.
Suddenly they come face-to-face with Chambers when the kid is transported to the alternate universe of Mid-World — where he urges the Gunslinger to defend mankind by protecting the mysterious, all-powerful titular tower from the Man in Black's plot to destroy it.
