Here's the Complete List of 2017 Canadian Screen Awards Winners

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 13, 2017

The Canadian Screen Awards were handed out last night (March 12), honouring the finest home-grown offerings in film and television from the last year.

The ceremony was held in Toronto and hosted by Howie Mandel, and in a display of classically understated Canadian-ness, there wasn't too much controversy (unlike that other little awards show).

The night's big winner was Xavier Dolan's It's Only the End of the World with six awards, though the director did not attend the event.

In television, Orphan Black triumphed once again with wins for Best Drama Series and Best Actress in a Drama Series for Tatiana Maslany. Funnier fare was celebrated too, with Catherine O'Hara winning Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Schitt's Creek and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee winning Best Actor in a Comedy Series for Kim's Convenience, while Letterkenny was named Best Comedy Series.

As for the Best Performance in a Variety or Sketch Comedy Program, the trophy went to the Tragically Hip for The Tragically Hip — A National Celebration.

Also of note, Christopher Plummer was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award and Just for Laughs was given the Icon Award.
