In 2009, Zack Snyder adapted Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' beloved Watchmen comics for the big screen. It was a solid endeavour, though our review explained that the original authors "actually had much bigger and more ambitious goals in mind." Now, he may get another chance at the material with a potential HBO series.
There's not much to go on, but sources told Collider that Snyder is currently in talks with HBO executives, who are considering a Watchmen series.
That's literally all we know, so the rest is pure speculation. Maybe he'll remake the original story as a series rather than a movie, or maybe he'll work through the Before Watchmen series. Hell, maybe he'll reimagine the story altogether with a new plot.
Then again, HBO might not follow through with the series at all. Still, it's a pretty exciting rumour.
