'Ghostbusters' Reboot Even Features a Female Slimer

Woman-hating nerds have been crying Cheetos-scented tears ever since it was revealed that Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot would feature all female leads. Apparently that's not the only change Feig made to the story, however, as the film will also feature a female Slimer.

The film's marketing department has just rolled out a new, 15-second ad called "The Slimers." It plays out like every other Ghostbusters commercial until the very end, where it reveals that the classic Slimer we all know and love has a new friend.

Based on the visual cues, it looks like the new Slimer is a female. After all, she's got a blonde wig and red lipstick, and she is sitting in the passenger seat while the male Slimer drives. Yes, the film looks to be reinforcing some antiquated gender roles when it comes to the green ghost department.

Peep the new Slimer in the 15-second trailer below. Ghostbusters opens on July 15.
