Christopher Guest's last major project was a television show, with the release of Family Tree back in 2013. Now, the veteran comedic director and performer will return to films for a new Netflix release.

Called Mascots, the film marks the next quirky comedy in Guest's filmography, which also includes Waiting for GuffmanBest in Show and A Mighty Wind, among others.

Details are scarce, but a promotional poster from Netflix (available above) reads:

Welcome to all the drama, intrigue and occasional excitement of The 8th World Mascot Association Championships, where a group of 'unusual' men and women, with big heads and furry suits, compete to win the prestigious gold fluffy award and be crowned best mascot in the world.

Considering its a Christopher Guest film, we're hoping Mascots will include appearances from regular collaborators Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Micheal McKean, Harry Shearer, Bob Balaban and Fred Willard.

Stay tuned for more information on Mascots as it becomes available.
