The latest film from Canadian director Brandon Cronenberg (Antiviral, Possessor Uncut) — a NEON/Topic Studios sci-fi thriller called Infinity Pool — is officially set to star Alexander Skarsgård.

The project was officially announced today, with the Swedish actor known for his roles in Big Little Lies, Succession, Godzilla vs. Kong, The Stand and more will also executive-produce the project.

As per a press release the synopsis for Infinity Pool is as follows: "James and Em are young, rich, in love and on vacation. Their all-inclusive resort boasts island tours and gleaming beaches. But outside of the hotel gates waits something much more dangerous and seductive, beyond the edge of paradise."

Sounds like an influencer's brand trip gone horribly wrong, right? Hopefully they at least get a few good Instagram posts out of it first.

Infinity Pool will begin principal photography in September.

As previously reported, Cronenberg is also set to be turn J.G. Ballard's novel Super-Cannes into a limited TV series.
