Ramin Bahrani's 99 Homes was one of our highlights at last year's TIFF. It's an emotionally charged thriller that sees an evicted man become an evictor as he struggles to make ends meet.
In 99 Homes, Andrew Garfield stars as Dennis Nash, a man who lives with his son and mother (Laura Dern). Falling behind on their payments, the family is evicted by Rich Carver (Michael Shannon).
Dennis then joins forces with Rich, evicting homes in the hopes that he'll make enough money to save his own. As the trailer unfolds, a criminal element is added to the story, as is some heavy-handed criticism of American capitalism.
