Tim Heidecker Details New Album 'High School,' Maps Out North American Tour

Co-produced by Mac DeMarco, it also features a song with Kurt Vile

Having faced his Fear of Death, Tim Heidecker will now head back to High School on a new album. The comedian's latest set of songs arrives June 24 via Spacebomb Records

Produced by Heidecker, Drew Erickson, Eric D. Johnson and Mac DeMarco, High School is said to find the singer-songwriter capturing both "adventures and misadventures of life as a Pennsylvania teen in the early '90s" as well as "how it felt to lose a juvenile sense of mystery and possibility as an adult."

Song titles include "Future Is Uncertain," "What Did We Do with Our Time?" and "Punch in the Gut," while Kurt Vile lends an assist on "Sirens of Titan."

Album opener "Buddy" is the first song to arrive alongside today's news, and you can watch a video for it below. The gentle, reflective rocker finds Heidecker remembering how a pal was "sitting in class, stoned on grass" before things become a bit more mournful.

Heidecker has also announced a North American tour of two-act comedy and music performances. His "No More Bullshit" stand-up character will take the stage for the first half of the evening, while the second half will see him perform songs from across his catalogue with the Very Good Band of Josh Adams (drums), Eliana Athayde (bass, vocals) and Catfish Connor (lead guitar, pedal steel).

A pair of Canadian stops are included on the itinerary. After some warm-up shows in L.A. to open July, Heidecker will play Vancouver's Vogue Theatre on July 16, ahead of stopping in at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall on July 25.

Tickets for all dates go on sale April 15 through Heidecker's official website, and you can find the tracklist of High School along with his complete tour schedule below.
