Tenacious D Announce West Coast Tour, Hit Up Vancouver

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 8, 2012

With Tenacious D's new album Rize of the Fenix due out on May 15 via Columbia Records, the cock-rocking comedy duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass have announced plans to take their array of acoustic tunes and dick jokes on the road for a brief West Coast tour.

The outing takes place in late May, and finds the band hitting the road in California before making their way up to the Pacific Northwest. This will bring them to Vancouver's PNE Amphitheater on May 27 before they play at the Sasquatch Music Festival the next day.

Rize of the Fenix features a full five-piece band including Dave Grohl on drums, but there's no word as to whether this tour will feature any backing players or just the core duo. Tickets for the Vancouver date go on sale tomorrow (March 9) at 10 a.m. over at TicketLeader.

Tenacious D will subsequently tour Europe in June. See the currently confirmed schedule below. The band have previously promised to announce a longer tour including more North American dates and a Toronto stop, but those dates haven't yet been officially announced.
