The production company behind beloved Canadian comedy troupe, Letterkenny, has found massive success through the cult series, as well as its original live tours — so much so that they've now formed their very own touring banner to bring new series to the road.
New Metric Media — the company behind both the Crave/Hulu series and the "Letterkenny Live" tour — has teamed up with the Feldman Agency to create Tourbo, a new touring entertainment business that will aim to license other series, as well as podcasts, for live iterations.
"We are in a world where we are so connected virtually, yet disconnected physically, so we'll be ready to rock once the curtains rise again," New Metric Media president Mark Montefiore told Deadline.
"Although this current environment may seem like an interesting time to start a live based venture, we feel strongly about the potential for content and opportunities," Feldman Agency president Jeff Craib added. "We've had a great experience building the 'Letterkenny Live' business together and anticipate the same level of success with our new projects under the Tourbo banner."
Due to ongoing restrictions on large gatherings, Tourbo has yet to formally launch.
The Letterkenny crew were scheduled to take "Letterkenny Live!" on the road this spring, but were forced to cancel the entire tour due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions. They would have performed their 90-minute live experience in multiple Canadian cities on the trek. So far, the tour has yet to be rescheduled.
Season 8 of Letterkenny aired last summer. The show's ninth season is forthcoming, but so far, showrunners have yet to announce a firm release date, though Letterkenny stars including Jared Keeso, Nathan Dales, Michelle Mylett, K. Trevor Wilson, Dylan Playfair, Andrew Herr, Tyler Johnston, Evan Stern and Mark Forward are expected to return.
