Saguenay, QC-born actor and comedian Ghyslain Tremblay has died. He was 68.
His brother confirmed that Tremblay passed away on Tuesday (April 7). Tremblay had suffered from Alzheimer's in recent years, but it is suspected that he died of COVID-19.
Tremblay's family could not confirm that he contracted the coronavirus, though they said that his doctor told them Tremblay had a fever on the day he died.
The Canadian Press has confirmed that there was an outbreak of COVID-19 at the assisted living facility where he was staying in Verdun.
Tremblay was known for his role as Pico Coton on the educational children's show 100 tours de Centour, which aired from 1971 to 1972. He was also a cast member on youth program Robin et Stella.
Tremblay's other TV roles included Les Brillant, Avec un grand A and La Petite Vie.
He also appeared in Canadian films like The Revenge of the Woman in Black, The Plouffe Family, Fathers and Sons and Juniper Tree.
Tremblay was previously married to actress Danielle Brassard-Leduc. They had two children together.
