Exclaim!'s comics page is back! After a hiatus of many years, comics have returned to the magazine starting with our Summer 2022 issue (on newsstands now, with Alexisonfire on the cover).
This issue's page features the inaugural instalment of Cheezies by Fiona Smyth — a longtime Exclaim! illustrator who worked on some of our earliest issues (her signature comic Cheez first appeared in our original comics section) and designed the logo for our recent 30th anniversary. In this strip, Smyth reflects on the surprising new trend of full-frontal male nudity in film and TV.
Nicole Zaridze offers a seasonally appropriate look at summer — its hot weather, welcome outdoor time and outrageously expensive drinks.
Tiffany Chin made a dizzying, beautiful illustration that we won't even try to describe — just take a look at it for yourself.
And last but not least, Exclaim!'s own Art Director Joseph Starkey will be reviewing concerts in comic strip form. For the first edition of this regular feature, he shares his thoughts on electronic artist French 79 at Toronto's Adelaide Hall.
Check out all the comics below, and see them IRL in Exclaim!'s Summer issue — out now!
