Abbi and Ilana of 'Broad City' Interview Sleater-Kinney

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jan 21, 2015

Between trips to Bed Bath & Beyond and filing their taxes, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer of Broad City still managed to find time to brush up on their interviewing skills before sitting down with iconic rock trio Sleater-Kinney.

Broad City returned to the small screen last week for its second season, while Sleater-Kinney just dropped their comeback LP No Cities to Love. NPR had the brilliant idea to sit the five ladies down in the same room for a discussion.

Everyone chimes in to talk about the way that their work in music and television has been obliterating female stereotypes, though Sleater-Kinney also delve into the specifics of the writing and recording process for the new record.

While Glazer and Jacobson might not be the most professional, they definitely get some laughs and manage to elicit some insightful anecdotes from Corin Tucker, Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss about their past, present and future legacy. There are even a few questions courtesy of comedy queen Amy Poehler.

The event was filmed last Friday (January 16) at the Ace Hotel in New York. The taped interview lasts for an hour and twenty minutes and you can watch the whole thing below.
