Each year, the Barclaycard Mercury Prize celebrates Great Britain's best album, and now the 2014 winner has been announced: Dead by Young Fathers.
Young Fathers beat out fellow short-listed nominees Damon Albarn, Bombay Bicycle Club, Anna Calvi, East India Youth, FKA twigs, GoGo Penguin, Jungle, Nick Mulvey, Polar Bear, Royal Blood and Kate Tempest.
All 12 of the nominees got a bronze statue, while Young Fathers also took home the grand prize of £20,000 ($36,000).
The nominees and ultimate winner were chosen by a panel of 12 judges. The decision was made based solely on the quality of the music contained on the albums.
