Yesterday’s Man Make Indie Rock Sound Classic on "Fleetwood mac"

Yesterday's Man describe their sound as "classic indie rock" — and Gal Av-Gay and Alie Lynch surely know a thing or two about classic indie rock, the former being a member of Dumb and the latter having played in a string of Vancouver bands over the years including Supermoon, Movieland and Kidnap Kids.

That's a whole bunch of great bands, but the debut single "Fleetwood mac" is my favourite thing they've ever done. Mixing the wry slacker rock of Pavement with the euphoric synth hooks of a Mint Records band (Immaculate Machine, the New Pornographers, etc.) and the bubblegummy bop of the Courtneys, it throws back to the golden age of blog-rock without sounding nostalgic.

Yesterday's Man's self-titled debut drops on Christmas Eve through Mono Tapes.
