Yaeji has shared news of her debut album. The Korean-American artist and producer will release new effort With a Hammer this April.
News of With a Hammer arrived complete with the album artwork you see above (by the artist and photographer Dasom Han) and a short note about the LP and her tool of choice.
"I want to begin this album with intent," she writes. "I want to take all that I've suppressed and let it breathe and live through this process of creation. I want my music to be free. So I started writing a story about me and my hammer. A hammer created from my anger."
To us, that sounds like a real smash. With a Hammer will follow Yaeji's 2020 mixtape WHAT WE DREW 우리가 그려왔던, which followed a pair of breakout 2017 EPs, Yaeji and EP2. The latter release was named among Exclaim!'s Best EPs of 2017.
In 2021, Yaeji celebrated over 40 years of PAC-MAN with single "PAC-TIVE."
