Wyclef Jean has had a rough run of things in the past few weeks. After Haitian authorities ruled that the former Fugee was ineligible to run for president of the country, he raged against the electoral council in his protest song, "Prizon Pou K.E.P. A," before officially dropping out of the race last week. Now, things have gone from bad to worse for Wyclef, as reports indicate that he has been admitted to hospital.
According to a tweet by the singer's own political group, AFACeAFACe, "Information from an inside source has confirmed @wyclef has been hospitalized due to Stress and Fatigue."
This report appears to be legitimate, since Jean retweeted it soon after. This is his only tweet in the past two days.
A representative for Jean also confirmed to the Associated Press that Jean is indeed in hospital at an undisclosed location, adding he "plans to take it easy" and will be released from the hospital this week.
We'll have to see whether Jean's hospitalization will set him back in his plans to release a new album If I Were President: The Haitian Experience next year.
