Following a seemingly endless array of setbacks, Woodstock 50 has at last found a new venue — but it's now in an entirely different state.
Today it was confirmed that Woodstock 50 organizers have secured the famed Maryland venue Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, the New York Times reports. So far, the event still scheduled to take place from August 16 to 18.
That said, the Woodstock 50 lineup — which boasted the likes of JAY-Z, Chance the Rapper, the Raconteurs, Sturgill Simpson and the Killers — is now unconfirmed, according to the New York Times. So we will just have to wait and see who's actually playing the festival if it indeed happens.
As previously reported, the troubled Woodstock 50 attempted to host the event at the New York "racino" Vernon Downs, but that plan was eventually rejected by officials.
This came after the festival lost its much larger original venue — not to mention its main financier, which announced the festival was cancelled.
