Woodpigeon Announce 'Thumbtacks + Glue,' Premiere New Song

BY Alex HudsonPublished Dec 12, 2012

When Woodpigeon announced their 2012 EP For Paolo, we speculated that this might pave the way for a new album from the Mark Andrew Hamilton-led project. Sure enough, the Calgary orchestral pop act will release Thumbtacks + Glue on February 26 through Boompa/Fierce Panda.

The 10-song collection was recorded in Calgary and was produced by returning collaborator Arran Fisher. It reportedly finds Hamilton diversifying his sound, and a press release uses descriptions including "crunching guitar," "pure pop," "delicacy" and "bitter sting."

For a taste of what the album has to offer, listen to the intricately wrought, faintly Elliott Smith-flavoured single "Red Rover, Red Rover" at the bottom of the page. Check out the album cover above and the tracklist below.

Woodpigeon will be performing at Calgary's High Performance Rodeo in 2013. Scroll past the tracklist to see the outfit's current live schedule.
