In addition to playing in groups like Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown and Swan Lake, prolific songwriter Spencer Krug has his own solo project called Moonface. His only release under that moniker is 2010's Dreamland EP: Marimba and Shit-Drums. Now, more than a year since the EP came out, Krug will be bringing Moonface to the stage.
He currently has two Moonface shows booked. The first is this Wednesday (April 20) at a secret location in Brooklyn, NY. You will learn exactly where the venue is when you purchase a ticket from here.
Then, on May 20, Krug will perform at Montreal's Il Motore as Moonface. Tickets for this performance are just $8 in advance and $10 at the door. The show will also feature up-and-coming songwriting Sean Nicholas Savage. You can buy a ticket here.
There's no word as to whether this will be a marimba performance, or if Krug has prepared new material for his Moonface project. But with Wolf Parade on a break and Dan Boeckner getting ready to release a new album with the Handsome Furs, don't be surprised if Krug starts rolling out some of his own new material soon.
