Wolf Parade Confirm Comeback, Announce Residencies in NYC, Toronto and London

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jan 15, 2016

After a five-year hiatus, Wolf Parade cryptically reintroduced themselves with a tweet yesterday (January 14). Now, it's been revealed that the Canadian indie rockers will be returning to the live stage — with new music.

The band have announced a string of live shows across the months of May and June. The reunion residencies will kick off with a five-night stint at New York's Bowery Ballroom from May 17-21, followed by three consecutive Toronto dates at Lee's Palace on May 24, 25 and 26. After a few weeks, the band will head overseas for a final two-show residency at the Scala in London, UK, in June.

A message from the band declares the end of their hiatus, and also reveals that Wolf Parade have been working on new songs. It reads:

Hey-o everyone, the hiatus is over! We're very excited to get back on stage together at these residency shows in NYC, Toronto, and London. We'll be playing our favorites from the old albums, of course, as well as a taste or two of some new tunes we've been writing. Hope to see you there!

The Montreal band was formed in 2004 by Spencer Krug, Dan Boeckner, Arlen Thompson and Dante DeCaro. The last album they released was 2010's Expo 86.
