Michigan sonic deconstructionists Wolf Eyes have issued dozens upon dozens of noise-laden experiments throughout their decade-plus run, and the band are evolving again via a lineup change.
A recent note from Wolf Eyes on their website confirms that longtime member Mike Connelly, who had joined the outfit in 2005, exited the group last fall. Founder Nate Young and John Olson have since added guitarist Jim Baljo (Human Eye, 696 Blues Band) into the mix. According to the group, this latest incarnation homes in on "tight simplified steady slow burning electronics/guitar/tapes/reeds unheard before in the canon of the band."
The newly configured trio have now announced their first LP together will be called No Answer. Wolf Eyes have yet to finish recording the album, so the due date has not been delivered, but it will be issued as a four 7-inch sets on American Tapes. CD and LP editions will be pressed by an as-yet-unnamed imprint.
Wolf Eyes are also planning a European tour for April, but the dates have yet to materialize. There's no word yet on whether any North American gigs are on the horizon.
