Arcade Fire are currently touring Europe in support of their Everything Now LP, a run which included a date at Dublin's 3Arena last week (April 6). The fun on the Friday evening nearly went a little too far, however, after a fan swiped Win Butler's hat during a foray into the audience.
As video from Twitter user @navanman shows, Butler was wandering through the crowd before his hat was lifted clean off his head by an audience member.
The clip shows Butler turn back to where the hand came from with a look that should have caused the thief to turn over the headgear, but all he could do was mouth, "why?"
Butler took to Twitter yesterday (April 10) to reassure fans who saw the thievery go down that his sweet lid was "immediately retrieved." As he tweeted, "turns out stealing something while being broadcast on a giant Jumbotron in an arena full of people isn't the best strategy :)"
Arcade Fire recently released short film Money + Love, and extended their "Everything Now Continued Tour."
