After delivering two albums last year, William Basinski is looking ahead to 2017 in announcing his next record of tape loop mastery. Titled A Shadow in Time, Basinski's latest effort will arrive early next year.
The album features only two tracks, one of which is a described as a "plaintive, solitary eulogy" for late rock icon David Bowie titled "For David Robert Jones." Leading things off is the title track, said to be a "subtle, celestial escalation of melody and drone."
Vinyl pre-orders for A Shadow in Time are available here, with a download code included. The record will arrive on January 20 through Basinski's own 2062 Recordings, as well as Temporary Residence Ltd.
