Waterloo, ON indie rock quartet Will Currie and the Country French recently announced their long-awaited, grimly titled sophomore full-length They Killed Us. Before the record hits shelves next month, though, the band have shared a new video for lead single "No, Nothing" — and Exclaim! has got your first glimpse at it.
The animated clip features illustrations from Maria Lima, who also designed the artwork for the upcoming album. Pastel-tinged watercolours paint gorgeous scenes that serve as the background to footage of the band's namesake singing into the camera, and additional sketches of country homes, and tranquil wildlife.
It's a scenic accompaniment to a dramatic sonic experience that features lush, loud, orchestral bursts interwoven with good, old-fashioned piano pop.
They Killed Us arrives on June 9 through File Under: Music, but for now, you can watch the video premiere of "No, Nothing " below.
