Wild Pink Are 'Dulling the Horns' on New Album, Share "The Fences of Stonehenge"

Wild Pink have returned with details of their fifth LP. The New York outfit will share new album Dulling the Horns on October 4 via Fire Talk Records, marking their first for the label.

Following 2022's ILYSM, which was inspired by bandleader John Ross's cancer diagnosis, Dulling the Horns is said to find the artist asking on the other side, "Do you still believe it?"

"You zoom out, and I'm very fortunate," Ross says of his cancer battle, and retelling of it via album cycle. "But Dulling the Horns came from the feeling of figuring out how do you deal with things and move forward and just keep creating."

Opener "The Fences of Stonehenge" arrives alongside today's announcement, and you can hear it below.

"I was messing around with some classic sounding lyrical tropes because I wanted to pick them apart as a song idea but also because they actually sounded good as lyrics," Ross shares of the single. "I think it works because this song is kind of about figuring out what to do when you realize you outgrew a lot of stuff you used to like. This song came together somewhat quickly and I was pretty sure it was gonna be the album opener when I was writing it."

Wild Pink will take their latest on tour in Europe, the UK and the US this fall, with further details available via the band's official website.
