Weird Lines Announce Debut Album, Premiere "Summer Can" Video

BY Sarah MurphyPublished May 2, 2016

Maritimes songwriting supergroup Weird Lines brings together the likes of Julie Doiron, C.L. McLaughlin, Jon McKiel, James Anderson and Chris Meaney. The band previously delivered a special single in conjunction with SappyFest a few years back, and now they're ready to reveal some exciting news in the lead-up to their appearance at this spring's Lawnya Vawnya.

The band will release their self-titled debut full-length on July 8 through Sappy Futures Ltd.

The eight-track offering features the previously shared "Twin Summers," and the sunshine-y motif carries across other song titles like "Malibu" and "Summer Can."

The latter can be heard right now, and Exclaim! has got the exclusive video premiere. The clip was shot in Alaska and pays homage to this amazing YouTube video of Justin Lawrence Hoyt dancing to Alicia Keys' "No One."

The "Summer Can" clip takes a similar approach, and you can see the final results in the player below. Just scroll past the Weird Lines tracklisting and hit play to check it out.

The band are expected to reveal more extensive tour dates in the near future, but for now, you can catch them at Lawnya Vawnya in St. John's on May 5.
