Each week at Exclaim!, we sift through the comments on our website and various social media pages to put together the Reader Feedback Roundup. Here's a sampling of the good, bad and ugly of what you guys have been saying the past few days.
For starters, condolences poured in over the untimely death of Beastie Boy Adam Yauch. Commenter Tyler echoed the sentiments of many people who grew up listening to MCA in the Beastie Boys when he said, "Terrible news. They were a big part of my musical growth. He seemed like a good guy." Meanwhile, commenter Wasabi posted, "Will miss you Adam. You will always will inspire me to be myself and care for all around me no matter what s--- is goin on."
Meanwhile, Toronto-based pop songstress Adaline sparked some debate when we announced her upcoming Canadian tour. The story ran with a picture of Adaline in an oversized fur coat and one reader said, "Looking forward to her show. I'll be the one with the can of red paint." Ryan, another commenter, came to Adaline's defence asking rhetorically, "You want to throw paint on her coat? What a crusader! What if it's faux fur?"
Also, in response to @exclaimnews tweeting about the recently announced June Carter Cash biopic starring Jewel, Twitter user @mhamiltonmusic griped, "I can think of 20 more suitable people. Dang."
Finally, the feedback on our own reader feedback was mixed last week. This item received some criticism and some praise. "Acknowledging this bullshit is a journalistic low," said one commenter, while, the other hand, PaulaLafleur had our backs. "I really enjoy it!" she exclaimed.
