Wedding Present Celebrate 'Seamonsters' with Anniversary Tour, Prep New Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Dec 7, 2011

Last year, British twee rock vets the Wedding Present hit the road to celebrate the 21st anniversary of their album Bizarro. Soon, the long-running group will be embarking on another anniversary tour, this time for the 1991 album Seamonsters.

This Steve Albini-produced LP will be in its 21st year of existence when songwriter David Gedge and co. hit the road in March and April of next year. Along with a slew of U.S. dates, the North American outing includes two Canadian appearances: Toronto on March 25 and Vancouver on April 5.

Along the way, the group will be playing Seamonsters in full. They will also be playing cuts from a forthcoming new album. As Slicing Up Eyeballs notes, this latest LP will be out in March. When it arrives, this will be the band's first new studio album since 2008's El Rey.
