WayHome Will Honour Cancelled Pemberton Music Festival Tickets

The move comes after first extending a helping hand to Fyre Festival ticket holders

Yesterday (May 18), Ontario's WayHome Music & Arts Festival extended a helping hand to attendees of the Bahamas's disastrous Fyre Festival in offering them free general admission. Now, the fest is doing the same to those who looked to attend this year's now-cancelled Pemberton Music Festival.

The festival is set to honour tickets from the West Coast event with free general admission full-weekend tickets. The offer is open until June 30.

"We understand the difficulties that go into the planning and execution of a large-scale festival event," Republic Live Partner Eva Dunford explained in a statement. "First and foremost, we are music fans, and as such belong to an international community that share in our mutual successes and disappointments. It's saddening to hear of the struggles Pemberton Music Festival organizers are dealing with, and therefore want to help by honouring all purchased ticket holders with a free pass to WayHome this summer."

You can learn how to take advantage of the offer over here.

The news of Pemberton's cancellation came late yesterday, with organizers revealing they had filed for bankruptcy and that there would be no automatic refunds for those who had purchased tickets. In the case of Fyre Festival, their issues went a little bit beyond that.

WayHome takes place from July 28 to 30 at Burl's Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte, ON.
