Avril Lavigne's dream collab with Paramore's Hayley Williams might still be in the making, but her connection with All Time Low is alive and well.
After the Maryland punk rockers joined Lavigne during her set at the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas for a cover of blink-182's "All the Small Things" last year, she returned the favour this weekend by surprising their fans with "Sk8er Boi" and "Fake as Hell" performances.
All Time Low kicked off "Fake as Hell," their joint track with Lavigne that came out in September, before a black leather and combat boot-clad Lavigne snuck in from backstage for the end of the chorus, drawing screams from the punk crowd.
With "Sk8er Boi" up next, Lavigne naturally took the lead, relegating All Time Low's lead singer Alex Gaskarth to take on harmony and rhythm guitar duties.
The sophomore edition of When We Were Young, headlined by Green Day and blink-182, also featured Ajax rockers Sum 41 and Montreal's Simple Plan.
