As previously reported, the Walkmen's bassist/organist Walter Martin has followed up his band's "extreme hiatus" with a forthcoming solo album. The record's many collaborations include the National's Matt Berninger, who you can now hear on the single "We Like the Zoo ('Cause We're Animals Too)."
It's worth remembering that Martin calls this album a "family record," as it was inspired by the birth of his first child. As such, the song is an uptempo, feelgood sing-along complete with animal sound effects and plenty of goofy lyrics about, well, zoo animals.
Check out "We Like the Zoo ('Cause We're Animals Too)" below. We're All Young Together arrives on May 13 via Family Jukebox Records.
