The Von Bondies Return With First Album in Four Years

After four years of wheelin’ and dealin’ and a few line-up changes, the rock kids of the Von Bondies finally have themselves a new label to call home. The Detroit band have inked a deal with Majordomo Records and have announced that the label will be releasing the group’s third album Love, Hate, and Then There's You on February 3.

The forthcoming full-length follows up the Von Bondies’ 2004 major label effort Pawn Shoppe Heart and was produced by not one but four producers: Rick Parker (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club), Peter Katis (Interpol), Sean O'Keefe (Fall Out Boy) and Butch Walker (Hot Hot Heat).

"We would have signed a lot sooner, but it took us four years to find a pen," Von Bondies’ front-man Jason Stollsteimer told Billboard of the deal with Majordomo, which is also home to Earlimart and the Airborne Toxic Event. "We're not looking for a big thing. It doesn't make sense for us to be on a major. Majors are for bands that sell 500,000 to a million records. We're happy selling 100,000; we're proud of that."

Love, Hate, and Then There's You will be preceded by a limited-edition seven-inch single on November 18 for the album track "Pale Bride” and the non-album B-side "Falling In Love.” The band are also expected to tour the U.S., and maybe Canada, this fall and throughout 2009.
