This release hails from French producer Olivier Abittol, aka Virtual Olive. Well known for his live performances around Paris, this release finds him firmly entrenched in the goa/psychedelic trance vein - a long way from the drum & bass of his debut album, Drumz, Bass & Double Cream. Drehkar is named for the Tibetan wandering troubadours whose chants brought happiness to those who heard them. There is certainly a dose of gleeful energy in this release, but being that the tracks were completed in 1998, they have a somewhat dated sound to them. Overall, it is a solid release, though nothing exceptional emerges from its eight tracks.
