"Oi" is one of the last bastions of raw sounding punk in a genre dominated by slick sounding mall bands, and this comp is a good example of that. The international selection of bands here isn't overly concerned with sounding palatable to tender ears, and make that obvious with gruff vocals and rough production. The message on here is what's important to these groups, as they take on Nazis, police and oppression in general. There are songs from well-known acts like Red Alert, Angelic Upstarts and the Class Assassins and material from obscure more bands like Fate 2 Hate and Wildcat Strike. With 21 tracks in all, this is a good sampling of the oi/street punk scene today.
