The fourth in a collection of Hamilton compilations by Hot Tub and the second in this particular series, The Ambitious CD 2 is another impressive collection of local talent and is quite possibly their most upbeat, consistent and surprising yet. Most notable are tracks by Mayor McCA, the Chrome Yellow Co., El-Chem & Realistic (of Warsawpack fame), the Marble Index, Edgar Breau and Hunter Eves. Of course, as to be expected with a compilation with such a wide range of styles, the songs are as varied as their quality (some of it is derivative and amateurish), but the amount of talent showcased here is hard to ignore, no matter what you think of Hamilton and its unique mixture of donut factories and that strange off-colour smoke smell. Lovely place, though. Really.
