Sonar Kollective celebrates a decade of sophisticated chill with two track-laden CDs from the label’s roster of talent. Showing why we should, Ten Years Who Cares?’s first CD assembles the best of past releases, while the second bumps the tempo a bit with a funkier mix by label founders and prolific nu-jazz and house producers Jazzanova. Featuring classics from Forss, Thief and Slope, the vibe is modern lounge that occasionally dips into deep house and reggae. Joe Duki and Dj Fitchie’s classic "Midnight Marauders” and Fat Freddys Drop’s "Flashback” of course make the cut, and alongside all the first-rate jazz-inspired down tempo remind us of how much we should appreciate the label’s dedication to quality over the past ten years.
