Soundtrack Music from Spectrum Red

BY Roman SokalPublished Jul 1, 2001

Originally composed as a soundtrack to an unfilmed screenplay entitled Spectrum Red - a story about a Japanese cult stealing experimental nuclear technology from an English laboratory. According to the music, the film would certainly have been made in the tradition of a '60s B-movie. The usage of xylophones, ocular cymbal hits and the minute, minimalist Duane Eddy guitar string pinging recall the soundtracks of early Twilight Zone episodes, but with a twist of the Ventures for dramatic measure. The texture of the sound is obviously a little more updated, but not too far off from technology that was available from back in the day, so sort of consider this a remastering of a black and white movie soundtrack if you will.
